Terms of Reference

1. Purpose

African Forensic Science Academy (AFSA) aims to highlight high-quality and impactful events advancing forensic sciences across Africa and globally. This ToR outlines the process and requirements for listing such events on AFSA website.

2. Scope

This document applies to any entity or organizer wishing to feature conferences, webinars, or workshops related to forensic sciences.

3. Eligibility and Event Caliber

To uphold the integrity and excellence of our platform, AFSA will consider events that:

  • Demonstrate professional organization and relevance to forensic sciences.
  • Attract a wide range of forensic scientists, researchers, and stakeholders.
  • Focus on knowledge dissemination, evidence-based practices, and innovation.
  • Feature notable speakers or experts in the forensic field.
  • Address regional, continental, or global forensic challenges and advancements.
  • Foster collaboration and professional networking among practitioners.

4. Submission Requirements

To request a listing, organizers must provide:

  1. Event Title
  2. Event Date(s)
  3. Host City/Country
  4. Organizing Institution/Host
  5. Event Theme (e.g., “Strengthening Forensic Standards in Africa”)
  6. Event Description (300 words max): Purpose, target audience, and key highlights.
  7. Website/Registration Link
  8. Contact Information
  9. List of Keynote Speakers/Experts (optional but preferred)

5. Evaluation Criteria

AFSA will review all submissions based on:

  • Relevance to forensic sciences.
  • Alignment with AFSA’s mission and vision.
  • Quality of content, including expert speakers and impactful themes.
  • Geographic scope (events fostering regional or international collaboration are prioritized).
Submissions inconsistent with these standards may not be listed.

6. Submission and Approval Process

  • Send all required details to [email protected]
  • Allow 5 working days for AFSA to review and approve.
  • Approved events will appear on the AFSA website’s events page.

7. Terms of Use

  • Listings are currently free of charge unless otherwise communicated.
  • AFSA reserves the right to edit or remove events if standards are not met.
  • Organizers are responsible for ensuring accurate information.

8. Submission Deadline

Submit event details at least 30 days before the event date for timely publication.
